Garment Care

A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Your Fidoski pieces are made to be worn, loved and kept for seasons. With just enough care and attention, you can help preserve their colour, texture and shape.

Our pieces are thoughtfully made in small batches, using natural and delicate fabrics, considered prints and rescued textiles that each have a story of their own. Some may have subtle irregularities, variations in colour or details that make them unique. These are part of their character.

Every product-specific care recommendations can be found on individual product pages, but here are a few simple ways to help your Fidoski pieces age beautifully.

01. Wash with care

Hand-wash separately in cold water using a mild detergent, unless the garment's care instructions recommend otherwise. For machine-washable garments, use a gentle cycle. Wash similar colours together, and take extra care with darker or brightly coloured fabrics, especially during the first few washes. as colour might bleed. Wash only when needed to help preserve the fabric, colour and life of your garment.

02. Care for the Prints and Colours

Turn your garments inside out before washing to help protect the print. Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, vigorous rubbing and prolonged soaking. Dry away from harsh, direct sunlight to help preserve colour.

Slight variations in print, colour and texture may occur, particularly in rescued and deadstock textiles. These are part of their story and not seen as defects.

03. Dry and iron gently

The way you dry your clothes matters just as much as the way you wash them. Gently reshape your garment while it is damp. Avoid wringing or twisting delicate fabrics. Air-dry in shade and strictly avoid direct sunlight.

A little steam or gentle ironing can bring your garment back to life. Iron printed fabrics inside out whenever possible, using a low to medium heat setting appropriate for the fabric. Place a clean cotton cloth between the iron and delicate or printed surfaces when needed. Avoid ironing directly over lace, trims, embellishments or other delicate details.

When in doubt, start with a lower temperature.

04. Store carefully

Give your clothes room to breathe between wears. Store clean, completely dry garments in a cool, dry place. Fold heavier pieces and delicate fabrics that may stretch on hangers. Keep garments away from prolonged moisture and direct sunlight. Empty pockets and fasten buttons or closures before storing.

Taking a moment to store your pieces properly can help them retain their shape and character for longer.

A little extra love for rare & rescued textiles

Some Fidoski pieces are made using surplus, leftover or otherwise overlooked textiles. Others may feature special prints, hand-finished details or rare fabrics with their own histories.

These materials may differ in texture, finish, colourfastness and care requirements. Handle delicate or older textiles gently. Avoid aggressive washing, bleaching and unnecessary friction. Follow any special care instructions listed on the individual product page.

Note

Dry-cleaning is recommended only where specified for the particular fabric or finish. Our pieces aren't supposed to be washed after every wear. Just leaving the garment in a cool dry place for a few hours works well. A damp cloth can be used to clean our accessories and pieces. This simply helps to extend the pieces' life.

Wear it again. Repair it when needed.

Clothing becomes meaningful through the life we live in it. A softened fabric, a familiar silhouette or a tiny sign of wear can become part of its story.

Before letting a piece go, consider whether it can be repaired, altered or worn differently. A loose button, a small seam repair or a thoughtful alteration can give a garment many more days in your wardrobe.

At Fidoski, we believe that caring for what we already own is an important part of mindful living.
